John Langeler is an award-winning and Emmy nominated reporter who joined KING 5 News in August, 2012. He comes to Seattle after reporting for KSWB in San Diego, CA but he is no stranger to the Northwest. John also reported and anchored for KREM and KXLY in Spokane, WA.
During his reporting career, John has covered education, scams, drug busts, murder mysteries and everything in between.
Notably, in October 2010 he embedded with the U.S. Air Force at the Manas Air Transit Center in Kyrgyzstan to report on local men and women deployed overseas. In March 2007, his tip to law enforcement in Idaho Springs, CO directly led to the safe return of two missing children from Walla Walla.
John was born in Princeton, NJ and moved to Las Vegas while in high school. He graduated from Ithaca College in 2002 and started his journalism career soon afterwards at KPAX in Missoula, MT.
Away from the news beat, John roots for his New York Rangers, plays ice hockey whenever possible, strums his guitar and struggles at golf.
