38 pound 'Bucket head'

This "bucket head" (lingcod) was landed on a charterboat off Westport on Saturday July 3nd by Joe Kuban of Grayland WAHoquiam. The fish weighed in at 39 lb. 8 oz. This is the current leader for the season and is in line to win the weekly prize of $500 and season prize of $1500 in the Westport Charterboat Associations derby. The 2010 traditional Salmon season kicks off this Sunday with salmon fishing Sundays through Thursdays and Rockfish lingcod trips Fridays and Saturdays.
