The Mariners lost to Baltimore, 8-3 Tuesday night. M's starter Felix Hernandez pitched well enough to win, but gave a 3-run homer to Jay Gibbons in the 6th inning. The Orioles took the lead on that shot for good. Manager John McLaren talked to reporters afterwards and thought Felix battled to throw over 100 pitches before he handed the ball to the bullpen. McLaren says the bullpen, uncharacteristically, gave up a bunch of runs.
