Portland Trail Blazers' Brandon Roy (7) drives past Golden State Warriors' Kelenna Azubuike in the fouth quarter of an NBA basketball game Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, in Oakland, Calif.

NEW YORK - Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy has been named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.

Roy averaged 20 points and six assists as he guided the Trail Blazers to wins over Sacramento, Miami, New Orleans and Detroit.

It's the third time he has won the award during his career. Clyde Drexler is the only other player in franchise history to win the award three times.

Blazers face Knicks in Big Apple

NEW YORK - The Portland Trail Blazers will be seeking their fifth win in a row when they visit the New York Knicks.

The Trail Blazers have allowed only 82 points per game during the streak, but the defense will be tested tonight by a Knicks team that leads the Eastern Conference in scoring at 106.4 points per game.

The Blazers, however, should find it easy to score because the Knicks allow an average of 109 points.

The high-octane style was on full display this past weekend, as the Knicks ran past Golden State 138-125 and set a record at the present Madison Square Garden with 82 first-half points.
