SEATTLE - The Seattle Seahawks won their first ever home game played on a snowy field, but for many motorists trying to get home after the game, it was a losing battle.

The steady snow began falling 20 minutes before kickoff.  Fans heading home had no trouble around the stadium, but once they got out of the area, many encountered icy, snowy gridlock.

One of the longest journeys home was a 15-hour, all-night adventure.

Greg LeDoux drove up from Portland to enjoy the game.

"When we drove up everything was great. The drive was fine, the ground was dry," said LeDoux.

But when the game was over and he hit Interstate 5 to drive home his troubles began.

"I think we went a couple of miles at about 55 miles per hour and then from there it was blow," he told KING 5 News.  "I called my wife at 3 (a.m.) and we were in Federal Way."

By about 10:30 a.m., LeDoux, his son, a co-worker and another young man had managed to reach Centralia.  And it wasn't as if they were deliberately taking their time.

"We stopped about 10 minutes to get some food and take a bathroom break," he said.  They also stopped briefly at a rest stop near Olympia.

"We've decided that the next time there's a Seahawks game and it's snowing, we just might take the train."

LeDoux and his son finally reached their Portland home at noon, some 15 hours after leaving the game for a trip that normally takes about 3 hours.
