The Sonics Team Store has slashed prices 90 percent to try and get rid of the merchandise linked to Seattle's former NBA franchise.

SEATTLE – Everything must go at the Seattle Sonics Team Store.

Now that the team has become the Oklahoma City Thunder, merchandise for the former Seattle franchise is still sitting on store shelves, so prices for the memorabilia are being slashed 90 percent.

Ball caps, sweatshirts, jackets and even Sonics hair scrunchies are going at slam dunk deals.

The sale is a double shock for Spanish tourist Aleix Farres. He didn’t realize the team had moved.

He also couldn’t believe that he didn’t have to pay $50 for a t-shirt.

"It was just well $50 so its’ ok because, if you compare to the Euros, it’s a good price,” said Fahress.

Actually, he paid five dollars.

Despite the deals, items are not flying off store shelves. Some of that could be due to bitterness about the team moving.

Seattle Prep alum Justin Lane remembers going to the Seattle Center Coliseum with his family as a young boy. He’s in town for his 20 year reunion and he hopes by the time he returns again, Seattle might have a new NBA team. He says what’s been lost can’t be measured in dollars and cents.

"They're losing a lot of character for the city. I think sports teams define a city, give it a real identity. It's a loss people won't understand ‘til five, ten years down the road,” said Lane.
