In a message on his Twitter account Sunday morning, wide receiver Terrell Owens wrote he has been cut by the Seahawks.

His tweet: "I'm no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I'm truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver (sic)."

All NFL teams have until Monday to trim their 90-man rosters to 75. The Seattle has yet to announce its cuts.

After sitting out a year of football after knee surgery, Owens, 38, was a longshot to make the roster in Seattle, even though the Seahawks have an unsettled picture at wide receiver. His free-agent signing drew national attention and some criticism. But the risk was small: A one-year contract at the veteran's minimum for his experience of $975,000, only $60,000 of which was guaranteed.

Owens didn't do much with his chance his preseason games. He didn't play in the first game and started the second. He was targeted five times by quarterback Matt Flynn, catching none, including a drop of a 46-yarder from quarterback that would have been a touchdown.

Saturday in Kansas City in the Seahawks' 44-14 victory, Owens made a good catch of a 44-yarder from Russell Wilson, tracking a ball thrown a little short. His second catch was in the flat that was a loss of three yards, and he had another drop.

In practice, he appeared to be outplayed by another free-agent signing, Braylon Edwards, 29, who Saturday made a good leaping catch Saturday of a 32-yard sideline route.
