Juventus edges Cagliari 3-1

MILAN (AP) — Defending Italian champion Juventus scored two stoppage-time goals for a 3-1 victory over 10-man Cagliari in Serie A on Friday.

Cagliari striker Alessandro Matri scored twice, the decisive second after an apparent handball by teammate Arturo Vidal, and Mirko Vucinic completed the scoring.

Mauricio Pinilla gave Cagliari the lead on a penalty in the 16th minute.

Cagliari defender Davide Astori was sent off in the 65th for a second yellow card.

Juventus had a 10-points lead over second-place Inter Milan, which faces Genoa on Saturday.

Struggling Pescara also scored a stoppage-time winner to beat Catania 2-1 and end a five-game skid.

Romulo Togni whipped in a free-kick for his first goal in Serie A in the fifth minute of added time. Mervan Celik opened the scoring for Pescara in the 24th minute, and Pablo Barrientos tied it 12 minutes later.

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Adrian Lopez scored in the 77th minute to give Atletico Madrid a 1-0 victory over visiting Celta Vigo, keeping Diego Simeone's side in touch with leader Barcelona in the Spanish standings.

Atletico, 9-0 at home, cut Barcelona's lead to six points. Barcelona visits Valladolid on Saturday.

Atletico made it through the final five minutes with 10 men after Miranda received his second booking.

Also, Roberto Soldado had a goal and an assist to help Valencia beat Getafe 4-2 for new coach Ernesto Valverde's first home victory in the Spanish league. Soldado opened the scoring for Valencia seconds into the match, then set up Jonas' goal in the seventh minute. Ricardo Costa and Nelson Valdez added goals.

Alvaro Vazquez and Alexis Ruano scored for Getafe.

BREST, France (AP) — Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped French leader Paris Saint-Germain finish the year with a 3-0 victory over 10-man Brest.

Brest was a man down for more than an hour after Abdoulwhaid Sissoko was sent off for a two-footed tackle on Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Ibrahimovic opened the scoring in the 55th minute with his 18th league goal. Kevin Gameiro also scored, and Brest defender Bernard Mendy had an own goal.
