HOUSTON (AP) — Ricardo Clark scored in the 59th minute and the Houston Dynamo snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night.

Houston (7-6-5) had not won since beating D.C. United 4-0 on May 8. Philadelphia (7-6-6) saw its five-game unbeaten streak snapped, dropping its first game since losing 5-3 at Montreal on May 25.

Clark also ended Houston's franchise record 388-minute scoreless streak when he headed in Jermaine Taylor's cross from the left sideline from 8 yards out.

Houston had not scored since Warren Creavalle's goal at Columbus on June 1.

Philadelphia's best chance came before halftime when Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall stopped Aaron Wheeler's shot from the left box and Conor Casey's rebound attempt went high.

REVOLUTION 2, EARTHQUAKES 0

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) — Saer Sene and Dimitry Imbongo each scored their second goals of the season and New England snapped a three-match winless stretch with its victory over the Earthquakes.

New England (6-5-6) was winless in its last three outings (0-1-2) and snapped a five-match (0-4-1) winless streak against San Jose (5-9-6) before 13,732 at Gillette Stadium.

New England midfielder Lee Nguyen set up both goals, creating Sene's goal in the 13th minute, a 25-yard blast from atop the penalty box area, then making a pass from atop the right corner of the penalty box to create Imbongo's goal, a sliding touch, in the 78th minute.

San Jose is 1-8-2 on the road this season, being outscored 21-7. The Earthquakes played with leading scorer Chris Wondolowski, who is on duty with the U.S. national team.

WHITECAPS 2, SOUNDERS 0

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Kenny Miller and second-half substitute Darren Mattocks scored and Brad Knighton picked up his second shutout of the season to lead Vancouver past Seattle for first time in MLS play.

Knighton also earned an assist on Mattocks' key insurance goal in the 80th minute for the Whitecaps (8-5-5), who are in their third MLS season. Vancouver moved into fourth place in the Western Conference standings while extending its streak to five games.

The Sounders (7-6-3) saw their unbeaten streak end at four games.

Miller scored in the fourth minute, and then the Whitecaps relied on Knighton to keep them in the game as the Sounders enjoyed numerous chances but could not beat the Vancouver goalkeeper.
