The Seahawks have waived/injured tight end Anthony McCoy.  He injured his Achilles tendon during last Monday's OTA, had surgery on Thursday, and was expected to be out up to nine months.

McCoy was Seattle's sixth-round draft choice in the 2010 NFL Draft.  Over 34 games, he caught 31 balls for 437 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Under NFL rules, teams are able to waive an injured player.  Other teams can claim any player on the Waived/Injured list.  If players clear their waivers, their original team can either put them on the IR list or come to an injury setttement agreement and part ways.

The Seahawks made another move signing  offensive tackle Jake Bscherer.

Bscherer spent three years at Wisconsin before transferring to Minnesota-Deluth for his senior senior season. when he was named to the All-NSIC team in his only season with the Bulldogs.  He took part in the Seahawks rookie minicamp on a tryout basis from May 10-12.
