Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman says he's the best in the league and the league kind of agrees with him. The NFL announces its "Performance Based Pay" compensations. Sherman made an additional $249,201 based on his 2012 play and adjusted regular season compensation. It's a program that's been in the NFL since 2002.  It helps spread the wealth a llittle bit for guys who outperform their contract.  Bengal LB, and former Arizona State star, Vontaze Burfict received the highest amount. Burfict was paid an additional $299,465.

By the way, here's something Sherman may not want to hear, but two cornerbacks' bonuses were a little higher than Optimus Prime.  Atlanta's Robert McClain and Denver's Cliff Harris made more. Sherman earned the 17th highest bonus for his performance in the league. Surely, Sherman will make up for it when his contract is up. Barring a major injury, he'll likely be one of the top paid CB's in the league. He has two years left on his current contract.

If you're wondering about QB Russell Wilson, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted about a week ago that Wilson made around $222 grand extra for his stellar rookie season.
