07:21 AM PDT on Monday, September 29, 2008
NEW YORK - The Pac-10 lost a lot of luster in Corvallis, Ore., last week.
Conference powerhouse Southern California plummeted from No. 1 to No. 9 yesterday in The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.
Oklahoma moved to the top spot followed, in order, by unbeaten Alabama, LSU, Missouri, Texas, Penn State, Texas Tech and BYU.
The Trojans were upset 27-21 as 25 1/2-point favorites Thursday night at Oregon State. They have a 2-1 record this season.
