The road to the 2012 London Olympics goes through Federal Way!

Diving hopefuls were making a splash at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center on Thursday. They're in town practicing for next month's U.S. Olympic Team Trials for diving, which will also be held at the Aquatic Center.

Divers like Cassidy Krug said getting familiar with the facility is a big part of training.

"It's so great to be getting a feel for the diving boards, the lighting, the pool the hotel, everything," said Krug. "You know, it's really valuable experience going into a big meet like trials."

Ten of the U.S. top 2012 Olympic hopefuls in the women's 3-meter and men's 10-meter events will be participating in next month's trials, including Carrie Dragland from Bothell.

Several Olympic medalists from previous Olympic Games will also be there to share their experiences and offer guidance to the athletes as they prepare for the trials.

The US Olympic Diving Trials will be held June 17 – 24 at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way. The event is open to the public and tickets are available for purchase. More information is available at www.usadiving.org or www.2012usdivetrials.com.
