Former University of Washington rower Scott Gault was named Monday to the US Olympic Men’s Four squad, making him the third former Husky heading to London.

Gault will join Charlie Cole, Henrik Rummel and Glenn Ochal on the Men’s Four squad, pending final approval from the US Olympic Committee.

Gault, a returning 2008 Olympian, finished fifth in men’s quadruple sculls in Beijing. He and Cole were members of the men’s four that qualified the boat for London with its fourth-place finish at the 2011 World Rowing Championships. Rummel competed in the men’s eight and Ochal in the men’s quadruple sculls at last year’s world championships.

Former Huskies Brett Newlin and Giuseppe Lanzone are also going to London in the Men’s Eight.

The Women’s Eight and Men’s Quadruple Sculls will be named June 22. Coxswain Mary Whipple, another former Dawg who won gold in Beijing, is likely to be in the Women’s Eight.
