Danell Leyva's bronze medal in the men's gymnastics all-around final at the London Olympics opened plenty of doors. Yet the decided to head back to work rather than explore other opportunities.

Leyva says his third-place finish in London only motivated him to start working toward the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. He already has a plan for the next three-plus years. That includes trying to defend his title at the American Cup in Worcester, Mass., on Saturday.

Leyva used his win at Madison Square Garden last March as a springboard to London. He'll face a stiff eight-man field that includes Olympic silver medalist Marcel Nguyen.

The women's field is wide open but does not include any members of the U.S. women's Olympic gold-medal winning team.
