Colts QB Andrew Luck ruled out against Seahawks

The Indianapolis Colts will be without their starting quarterback for Sunday night football against the Seattle Seahawks. On Monday, Colts coach Chuck Pagano ruled Andrew Luck officially out for this week.

“He’s progressing well, getting stronger,” said Pagano, via the team’s website, of Luck’s recovery from offseason shoulder surgery. Luck has missed the first three games of the season but could begin practicing as soon, pending clearance from team physicians.

Backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett will likely get the start Sunday against the Seahawks.

Brissett led Indianapolis to its first victory of the season on Sunday, completing 17 of 24 passes attempted for 259 yards and a touchdown. The quarterback also had five carries for 14 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

The Seahawks, now 1-2 on the season and coming off a loss, are still two-score favorites against the Colts for Sunday night.

The players return to practice Wednesday ahead of their first primetime matchup of the season.
