The Seattle Mariners have called up infielder Nick Franklin from Triple-A Tacoma. He’s expected to be in Arlington in time for Wednesday’s game against the Texas Rangers.
MLB.com reports Franklin is replacing Logan Morrison, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
Franklin was Seattle’s starter at second base for most of 2013, but was replaced with the Mariners signed Robinson Cano. It’s not clear where Franklin will be used.
The switch-hitting Franklin has a .395 average with four home runs and 13 RBIs in 11 games for Tacoma this season.
