TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Senior Brooke Gallaway and freshman Madison Hovren scored 18 points each to lead Central Valley to a 62-48 quarterfinal win over Eastlake on Thursday at the Class 4A girls state tournament.

Hovren did her damage from the field with 8 of 11 shooting while Gallaway was a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line to lead the Bears (24-2). Central Valley outrebounded Eastlake 33-23, had seven fewer turnovers and outscored the Wolves 26-9 from the free-throw line.

The Wolves (15-10) turned the ball over 24 times in the loss. Eastlake was led by the 15 points of senior Kendra Morrison, who will play at UC Santa Barbara next year. Morrison led the Wolves with eight rebounds and four assists.
