TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Qiara Norwood scored 27 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to lead Franklin to a 64-51 win over previously unbeaten Kamiakin Thursday in a quarterfinal game at the state 3A girls basketball tournament at the Tacoma Dome.

The 6-foot Norwood was 11 of 13 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to lead the Quakers (23-3) to the upset. Jadea Brundidge had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Franklin, which never trailed and led 21-5 after one quarter.

Oregon State-bound Khadidja Toure scored 23 points for the Braves (23-1), but 15 came at the free-throw line. The 5-foot-9 guard was just 3 for 14 from the field. The Braves shot just 27 percent from the field. Sira Toure chipped in 11 points for the Braves while Amanda Miller had a team-high 10 rebounds.
