Major League Baseball held day one of its draft on Monday. With the 17th overall pick, Tampa Bay chose Josh Sale from Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle.
Sale is a good hitter who batted .520 with five home runs and 20 RBI in his senior season. You'll likely see him in the outfield, but the Rays could move him to catcher.
With the 42nd pick, Tampa Bay then chose Drew Vettleson from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington. He is ambidextrous. Vettleson can throw 93 miles per hour from the right side, and up to 88 mph from the left. A switch hitter, most agree his future is in the outfield.
