SPOKANE, Wash. -- Jenna Moser scored 20 points and Colton rallied from a slow start to win its fifth straight Class 1B girls state championship, a 55-40 victory over Sunnyside Christian on Saturday.
Paige Vincent added 19 points for the Wildcats (25-1).
After grabbing its first lead midway through the second quarter, Colton pulled away in the fourth behind Vincent and Moser. The two combined for 19 points as the Wildcats outscored Sunnyside Christian 20-9 to close the game.
Katelyn Banks scored 13 points and Stormee Van Belle had 11 rebounds for the Knights (28-1).
Sunnyside Christian scored the first 10 points, capped by Rita Dalrymple's second basket with 4 minutes left in the first quarter. Colton answered behind Moser, who scored six points during an 18-7 run that gave the Wildcats their first lead, 18-17, midway through the second quarter.
Sunnyside Christian beat Colton in the initial Class 1B championship in 2007.
