Spotlight: Lakes HS football

This week's spotlight doesn't focus on one, two or even three players, but a whole football program.

Head Coach Dave Miller is in his 25th year overall coaching football at Lakes High School and in his 10th year as head coach.?He was the Offensive Coordinator for Lakes back in 1997.

This season, Lakes is currently undefeated and ranked No. 1 in Washington state. Lakes has always had great individual talent, and this year is more evidence of that with 9 guys who have scholarship offers to play Division 1 football.

But, the way Miller and his staff has always preached is the team concept - even with all the individual talent, you can't win championships without being a team first. They call it the "Lakes Way."

Lakes won the state title in 1997 and was a runner-up in 2000. They boast a 45 game winning streak between 1999 and 2003.
