TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Cheyenne Wilson had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Cleveland to a 47-44 victory over Holy Names in a showdown between two Seattle schools for the Class 3A girls basketball title Saturday night.
Calah Scott had six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter to help hold off a late rally by Holy Names and give the Eagles (22-7) their first state championship in their first trip to state since 1978.
Alexis Reichelt missed a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left that could have tied the game for Holy Names (26-3).
Erika Johnson had 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Holy Names. Holy Names beat Cleveland 65-39 and 66-47 earlier this season in Metro League play and the district playoffs.
