TACOMA, Wash. -- Otiona Gildon scored 10 of Gonzaga Prep's 11 fourth quarter points as Gonzaga Prep rallied to defeat Mount Rainier 53-51 and claim the 4A girls state championship.

Gildon led Gonzaga Prep with 18 points and 15 rebounds as they erased a 12-point second-half deficit to claim their first state title.

With Mount Rainier holding a 26-25 lead, Brittany and Jordan McPhee combined to lead Mount Rainier on a 15-6 run to seize control early in the third quarter. The duo scored all 15 points over the span as Mount Rainier took a 41-29 advantage.

Still trailing 47-39 late in the third quarter, Gonzaga Prep began their rally. Laura Stockton converted a three-point play before Gildon scored 10 straight points for Gonzaga Prep as part of a 13-2 run to take a 52-49 lead with just over a minute to play.

Jordan McPhee found Kaiti Freeberg cutting free under the hoop for an easy layup with 18.5 seconds to play to close the gap to one.

However, Mount Rainier couldn't foul to force Gonzaga Prep to the free throw line until just three seconds remained. After a free throw by Hannah Caudill, Jordan McPhee managed a desperation heave from near half court that couldn't connect.

Earlier on Saturday, Jasmin Edwards scored 18 points and Mikayla Pivec added 15 points and 19 rebounds as Lynnwood took third place with a 48-38 victory over Moses Lake.

Lynnwood held just a 37-34 lead after three quarters but outscored Moses Lake 11-4 in the final period to take the win.

McKenna Walker had 12 points and nine rebounds for Moses Lake. Jessie Loera added 10.

Also, Inglemoor held off a late rally to take home fourth place with a 39-36 victory over Skyview.

Deja Strother had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Inglemoor.

Jocelyn Adams and Aubrey Ward-El each scored 11 points in a losing effort for Skyview.
