TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Mikey Hope converted a three-point play with 28 seconds to play, and Wilson pulled away late to defeat Walla Walla 52-44 in the quarterfinals of the boys 4A state tournament on Thursday night. Wilson held a 42-29 lead midway through the fourth quarter, but Gary Winston and Michael Weisner led Walla Walla on a 13-0 run to knot the game at 42-all with just over 2 minutes to play. With the Rams holding a 45-44 cushion, Hope scored in the lane and was fouled, increasing the lead to four after the free throw. A turnover by the Blue Devils forced them to foul and Wilson pulled away at the line down the stretch. Hope, Demetrius Smith, Jibreel Stevens and Xavier Cooper all finished with 12 points each for the Rams. Weisner led the way for Walla Walla with 18 points and seven rebounds. Winston finished with 16.
