TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Lauren Goecke scored 12 points to lead perennial-power Prairie to a 47-38 first-round win over Lynnwood Wednesday at the state 3A girls basketball tournament. The Falcons (19-6) are looking for their sixth state title, without the help of star guard Heather Corral, who is out for the year. Goecke stepped up Wednesday going 4 of 8 from the field with two 3-pointers. She made both free throws. Jackie Lanz added eight points, a team-high five rebounds and two steals for Prairie. Angela Gelhar chipped in seven. The Royals (14-13) made the tournament with a strong postseason, after finishing seventh out of 10 teams in the WesCo South. Meghan Cross led Lynnwood with 11 points. Mokun Fajemisin and Kelsey Parker added eight apiece. Lynnwood led 28-22 at the half but scored just 10 points in the second half thanks to 3 of 20 shooting from the field (15 percent).
