TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Chris Morgan scored 17 points and upstart Union pulled away late to surprise second-ranked Rainier Beach 69-54 in the quarterfinals of the Washington Class 3A boys state tournament Thursday night. Union (17-9), a third-year school from Vancouver unranked in the last state rankings by The Associated Press, advances to face No. 3 Lakes in Friday's semifinals. Lonnie Pearson had a game-high 20 points with 10 rebounds for Rainier Beach of Seattle. Jamon Echols added 19 points for the Vikings (23-4).
