TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Brandon Hill scored 16 points and Jack Forkey had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and upstart Glacier Peak beat Franklin Pierce 59-45 on Wednesday in a first-round game at the Class 3A boys basketball tournament. The Grizzlies (20-5) from Snohomish, in just their second year of existence, trailed once early and led by as many as 19 points. They shot 45 percent from the field (19 of 42) and were 4 of 10 from 3-point range, three from Hill. Peyton Pervier, a 6-foot-11 junior, added eight points, six boards and nine blocked shots to help the Grizzlies. The nine blocks was just one off the tournament record. The Cardinals (17-9) shot just 31 percent from the field (17 of 54). Jamar Murray was a bright spot for Franklin Pierce, scoring 16 points, grabbing five rebounds to go with two steals. Murray was 5 of 11 from the field, four from 3-point range. Isiah Hamlin scored 11 points and Anthony Bowden eight to go with a team-high eight rebounds.
