SOUTHPORT, England (AP) — English teen Charley Hull made birdies on half of the holes at Royal Birkdale and is back in the mix at the Ricoh Women's British Open.
Hull finished her second round with a double bogey on the 18th hole, the easiest on the course. That put her 11 shots out of the lead. And she started Saturday with two bogeys from the rough. But the 18-year-old got back into the game with nine birdies for a 6-under 66.
That's the lowest score of the week so far in this major championship.
Hull didn't realize until the round was over that she made a birdie 2 on every par 3.
Mo Martin, the 36-hole leader, already has two bogeys in two holes.
