On the schedule, the University of Washington football team’s homecoming game in October.  But in reality, Homecoming was Saturday night.

After playing last season at CenturyLink Field, the school opened its new $250 million Husky Stadium Saturday night with a win against Boise State.

“I love it.  I’m really impressed,” commented Huskies fan Pete Verretto.

Verretto is a longtime season ticket holder, and his grandfather was at the first game at the original Husky Stadium.

“He sat on the 50-yard line next to the mayor,” he recalled, “I don’t think fans back then could comprehend this.”

New Husky Stadium includes more luxury seats, a massive scoreboard, and the removal of the old track which allows fans to be closer to the field.
