COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Drew Bledsoe is getting his stolen bike back thanks to a 15-year-old boy.
The former Washington State University and New England Patriots standout reported someone swiped his $5,000 mountain bike from a car rack when he was in town over the Labor Day weekend.
Police say the boy told them 18-year-old Brandon C. Edgemon came by his house and asked his sister if she would "watch a bike for me because the police are looking for it".
After his sister told him about the situation, police say the boy found the bike in some bushes across from their home, and locked it in the garage so Edgemon couldn't get to it. The boy said Edgemon came back for the high-end bike and was angry when he realized he couldn't get to it. Police say the boy then talked to his father and decided to call police.
Coeur d'Alene Police say they determined the bicycle was the same one Bledsoe reported stolen on Sept. 5 and are making arrangements to return it.
Police say they found Edgemon already in jail for a warrant on a different charge. He was then charged with Grand Theft of a bicycle.
