As Washington State fans rushed the Martin Stadium field Friday following the Cougars 31-28 overtime win over Washington, someone appeared to have sucker punched Huskies tight end Austin Sefarian-Jenkins.
In a video posted on YouTube, Sefarian-Jenkins was at the 45-yard line, walking off the field, when a fan in a dark jacket appeared to throw a punch at the player when his head was turned away. The punch can be seen at 13 seconds into the video.
Sefarian-Jenkins fell to the ground.
SB Nation’s Cougcenter (which blew up the video and slowed it down) reports that it appeared Sefarian-Jenkins bumped into a woman a couple of seconds before the punch, and that it looks like he reached out to catch her.
The camera panned away right afterward, but when it came back, it appeared Sefarian-Jenkins walked toward the mass of fans storming the field before turning back toward the locker room.
MyNorthwest.com reports that Sefarian-Jenkins tweeted, "I prayed for that man that struck me. He must have some issues #prayingforhim"
That tweet was later removed from his account.
The fan has not been identified.
