(San Francisco) – Washington State beat USF 89-75 Tuesday night in San Francisco in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational.

Brock Motum paced the Cougars with 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

Marcus Capers had a career-high eight assists to go along with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Reggie Moore finished with 18 points and tied his career-high with 12 free throws made.

Abe Lodwick had 10 points.  Michael Ladd added nine points.

In his first start of the year, Cole Dickerson led the Dons with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Federal Way, WA native played 32 minutes and shot .500 (8-16) from the floor.

The Cougars will face the North Dakota State/Wyoming winner in the second round on Monday, March 19th.
