Washington State safety Deone Bucannon was named Tuesday to the Associated Press All-America first team.

Bucannon led the Cougars with 109 tackles this season. He had five interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Washington running back Bishop Sankey was named to the second team and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was named to the third team.

Sankey was third in the nation with 1775 rushing yards and scored 18 touchdowns. He also had 298 yards and one touchdown receiving.

Seferian-Jenkins won the John Mackey award last week as the nation's top tight end. He had 33 catches for 413 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Cougars play Colorado State in the New Mexico Bowl Saturday. The Huskies will face BYU in the Fight Hunger Bowl Dec. 27.
