The Washington Huskies returned to both the Associated Press and USA Today top 25 polls Tuesday following an impressive win over Boise State.

The Huskies debuted at No. 20 in the Associated Press poll and No. 23 in the coaches poll.

UW defeated Boise State 38-6 before a sellout crowd at Husky Stadium. The Broncos were ranked No. 19 going in, but fell out of both polls with the loss.

It was the first game at Montlake in more than a year following a major renovation of the stadium. With the track removed, fans were much closer to the action.

The Huskies have next week off then travel to unranked Illinois on Sept. 14.

The Oregon Ducks moved up to No. 2 in the AP poll and remained No. 3 in the coaches poll following a 66-3 shellacking of Nicholls State in what amounted to a warm-up game.

Oregon State dropped out of the polls after being defeated at home by Eastern Washington in a 49-46 shootout.

Two-time defending national champion Alabama sits atop both polls.
