SEATTLE - The Seahawks may need to find Walter Jones' replacement sooner, rather than later.
Big Walt announced on his Twitter account Sunday that "it is time for me to retire from football."
Jones is still recovering from micro fracture surgery in his knee. He missed the whole 2009 season due to the surgery.
While this does come directly from Jones himself, it's not the first time he's made comments regarding his plans to retire, only to have been joking. In early December, Jones posted a Tweet indicating the same thing.
As far as we know, no formal paperwork has been filed. The Seahawks did not return our phone calls.
