An effort to raise money for an injured Puyallup gymnast has raised $60,000 in just over a week.
Jacoby Miles, 15, was paralyzed after landing on her neck while practicing on the uneven bars earlier this month. Doctors say she injured but did not sever her spinal cord.
A website called the Team Jacoby Fund has been set up to help collect money for her medical expenses. The goal is to raise $75,000.
Miles' teammates and the community have collected 1,600 donations in amounts ranging from $1 to $2,000.
