At a private event in Milwaukee Wednesday, NBA deputy commissioner Adam Silver talked about the city's arena as well as whether the NBA will expand, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.
"One obvious issue we all have to deal with is we need a new arena in Milwaukee," Silver said to the private audience.
Silver will take over as NBA commissioner Feb. 1, 2014, as David Stern is set to retire.
The Buck's owner and city officials are hoping to put together an arena deal before their current lease runs out in 2017.
"At the end of the day compared to other modern arenas in the league, this arena is few hundred thousand square feet too small," said Silver.
The deputy commissioner also said that while the league is aware of plans for arena in Seattle, Las Vegas and Kansas City, the NBA is not even considering expanding at this point.
