PEORIA, Ariz. – Left fielder Julio Morban hit a walk-off single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning lifting the Seattle Mariners to a 9-8 come-from-behind victory over the Los Angeles Angels Monday afternoon in Cactus League play.

Morban’s heroics were set up after center fielder Francisco Martinez tripled to the right field corner with one out. Trailing 7-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Mariners scored 7 runs over their final three at-bats, including a four-run eighth, to extend their winning streak to three games and improve to 3-1 in Cactus League play.

Shortstop Brendan Ryan (solo, 2nd inning) and third baseman Alex Liddi (2-run, 7th inning) both hit home runs, as the Mariners reached double-digits in hits for the third consecutive game. Overall, Mariners hitters are batting .310 (45x145) with 20 extra base hits (7 HR) in four games. Martinez (2x2, 2 R, 3B), Morban (2x2, R, 2B, RBI), Justin Smoak (2x2, R, 2B) and Mike Jacobs (2x2, R, RBI) each recorded multi-hit games.

Mariners starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman, pitching in a game for the first time since 2010, recorded the no-decision allowing 2 hits and 3 runs (coming on a Hank Conger HR) in 1.0 inning of work. Relievers Brandon Maurer (1.0 IP, H, K), D.J. Mitchell (1.0 IP, BB, K), Logan Bawcom (1.0 IP, 3 H, K) and Brian Moran (1.0 IP, H, BB, K) recorded scoreless outings.

The Mariners defense turned four double plays, including twin-killings to end scoring threats in the sixth, seventh and ninth innings.

Angels catcher and Federal Way native Hank Conger went 3-for-3 with a double, home run and 5 RBI.
