Lynch pleads guilty to lesser charge in DUI case

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving in a pending DUI case in an Oakland courtroom Thursday.

According to a spokeswoman for Alameda County Superior Court, Lynch pleaded guilty to reckless driving with alcohol involved. He agreed to pay a $1,053 fine and must attend a DUI school for 12 hours. He will also serve two years on probation.

Lynch was arrested by California Highway Patrol early on July 14, 2012. He allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was later charged with Driving Under the Influence.

An incident report from the 2012 arrest described Lynch driving a white Ford van and weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 880.

In May 2008, Lynch was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Buffalo. He pleaded guilty to a traffic violation and admitted to driving away after striking a women.

Lynch also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge in Los Angeles in March 2009.

He came to Seattle in a 2010 trade with Buffalo. In March 2012, Lynch signed a four-year deal with Seattle worth $31 million.
