Kevin Zelko is a local special education teacher who also works as a beer vendor during Seahawks game.
He has watched the city and the students at his school rally around the Seahawks this season, but he also saw a need.
"I noticed on spirit day (Friday) some kids don't have a Seahawks jersey," Zelko said. "I did really well vending last Saturday so I was going to buy a few jerseys."
Soon his friends and family were offering to chip in, and the idea to crowd source the cause was born. He set up a GoFundMe to raise money to buy the jerseys.
Zelko said he wanted "kids who may not be able to afford a jersey to feel included."
His cause has been featured on Mashable and so far Zelko has raised almost $6,000.
"The kids are going to be amazed," Zelko said.
He said the generosity of the 12th Man was the best he's ever seen.
"The passion that the Seahawks fans have is unbelievable," said Zelko. "When I walk up and down the stairs, the glow and the energy the fans emit is epic."
"These kids are going to have huge 12th Man Seahawks Smiles [sic]."
