Both the University of Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers had great football seasons and are now looking toward their bowl games.

On Monday, fans rushed to buy plane tickets and tickets to the games.

The Oregon Ducks play Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona on January 3rd.

Russ Martineau and his son Cooper, 10, didn't waste any time buying tickets to the Fiesta Bowl Monday morning.

"We got a plane ticket. We got a hotel, rented a car and we're ready to go," said UO fan Russ Martineau of Portland.

With the Ducks ranked 4th in the nation and Kansas State 5th, expectations for an exciting game are running high. "Go ducks," said Cooper Martineau.

Meanwhile, down the road at the OSU Beaver Store, Jim Stanton was singing a different tune.

"It's go Beavs," said OSU fan, Jim Stanton with a laugh. Stanton and his wife got tickets to see the Beavers play in the Alamo Bowl on December 29th against Texas. "They've got a very good chance at beating Texas," he said. "I'm confident that we can do it," said Stanton.

The Beavers haven't played in a bowl game in several years, so fan enthusiasm is also way up.

"Finishing nine and three and we're going to the second best PAC 12 bowl game there is available for teams and we're playing the state of Texas against 'the' team in Texas," said OSU fan Chris Stone of Hillsboro.

"We have no Duck members in our family. All Beavers," said Helena Brill of Tigard.

Not everyone feels that way.

Steve Potestio is a Duck season ticket holder. "I'm surprised the Beavers made a bowl game," said Potestio with a laugh.

"It's good for the state of Oregon [overall]. I think, actually for both Oregon and Oregon State. It's very good for the state of Oregon, too," said Bill Lemke of Portland.

Azumano Travel in downtown Portland has been busy booking travel packages and charter flights to both Texas and Arizona from Portland and Eugene.

"Of course, Texas is a little further so from a pricing standpoint it's probably going to be more expensive than traveling to the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix. On the other hand, the beavers are playing a Texas team so I think the fans want to go and really have a strong showing for their team," said Nancy Parrott with Azumano Travel.

As of 5:30 p.m. Monday, tickets on www.stubhub.com to the Fiesta Bowl were running $54 to $5,000.

Tickets to the Alamo Bowl are running $50 to $800 on Stubhub.

Since both games are right in the middle of the holiday travel time, Parrott suggests buying your tickets ASAP.
