SEATTLE -- Six tuba players will perform during the seventh-inning stretch of the Mariners home opener Tuesday in memory of Ed "Tuba Man" McMichael.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports they practiced "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" Thursday wearing baseball jerseys with "Tuba Man" and the number 1 on the back.
McMichael is remembered for playing his tuba outside Seattle events and greeting fans.
He was fatally beaten during a street robbery near the Seattle Center and died in November.
Last week three teens pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the killing.
