Upstart stock car driver aims to break record

07:48 PM PDT on Thursday, October 26, 2006

By JIM DEVER / Evening Magazine

NASCAR has given rise to some big name stars, from Dale Jr. to Jeff Gordon. That’s why the nerve of a Seattle upstart is rankling some pro drivers and their powerful backers.

Russ Wicks is at it again, and this time he's out to beat the stockcar speed record, even if it kills him.

Watch a behind-the-scenes, exclusive, look at the top secret attempt.
