Roller derby back in Seattle

They're the hottest honeys on eight spinning wheels. They're all revved up and ready to rock Seattle.
Brace yourself for the return of one of the world's most outrageous - and dangerous - sports: roller derby.
Born in the depression, America's first extreme sport reached its zenith in the '70s when crowds went wild for the brawling broads and meaty men who played for teams like the L.A. Thunderbirds and Bat City Bombers.
Now, thirty years after Raquel Welch broke her wrist playing the Kansas City Bomber, roller derby is back on the banked tracks and claiming sellout crowds in Austin, Texas, where a new generation of rocker girls battle it out in mini-skirts and fishnet tights.
At least that's the hope for Seattle's Rat City Rollergirls, who are gearing up for their first season of bone-bruising bouts.
