Meeghan Black joined KING 5 News in April 2000. After six years as a weekend weather anchor, she became a weekday traffic anchor for the KING 5 Morning News First Alert Traffic team in 2006.
Before coming to KING 5, Meeghan was a weather anchor and award winning general assignment reporter for KIRO-TV in Seattle, WA since 1994.
From 1991 to 1994 Meeghan was a news anchor and general assignment reporter at KHQ-TV in Spokane, WA. From 1989 to 1991 she was a news anchor and crime reporter at KAKE-TV in Wichita, KS.
Since her employment at KING, Meeghan has received an Emmy for her work on a KING 5 special called "Echoes of the Eruption." Meeghan and gardening guru Ciscoe Morris have also developed the very popular "Gardening with Ciscoe" segments and half hour program seen weekly on KING 5.
Meeghan graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both communication and political science, and has obtained her Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. Meeghan grew up on Mercer Island, WA and graduated from Mercer Island High School.
