NEW DAY NORTHWEST
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 12:30pm
New Day Northwest interns will work with audiences and guests before and during show tapings each morning; managing audience members, seating and cueing in studio, assisting with guests and show props. Interns will also assist producers with initial story development as well as researching and pitching story ideas. Interns will also help handle viewer calls and emails, schedule audiences and help update New Day’s social media sites.
Intern should be in their junior or senior year, and have a valid driver's license. Computer/typing skills required. Excellent communication and research skills. Desire to pursue a career in broadcasting
Help KING 5 manage its outreach in the community by communicating with non-profit partners, coordinating emcee engagements with KING 5 talent and updating the KING 5 Community website and Facebook page. You’ll be intimately involved with the planning and execution of events and campaigns, both internally at KING 5 and around western Washington. (Specific events vary by season but include Home Team Harvest, Wear Red Day, Give Big, Race for the Cure, etc.) This is an opportunity to see how marketing, sales, programming and news departments all work together to make KING 5 the number one choice for viewers and community organizations in Western Washington.
Interns should be in their Junior or Senior year of college, majoring in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to juggle several projects at one time and be available for occasional weekend hours.
Hours: Flexible (no weekends)
Assist with projects involving national/local sales, traffic and sales research. Specific tasks include processing orders, assisting clients with running times, departmental word processing, rate card updating, answering departmental phones, checking agency confirmations, generating promotional one-sheets, and pulling qualitative data. Assist with promotional projects and details surrounding contest give-a-ways. May include coordination with other departments including Evening Magazine, Creative Services and Production.
Students should be in their junior or senior year, majoring in Communications, Advertising, or a related field. Computer/typing skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
