The Northwest is home to reporter-anchor Cam Johnson. Her family has been here for more than 100 years, since the gold rush days. Needless to say, she loves it here.

Cam's television reporting career has taken her from Texas to Southern Oregon to Portland -- and finally back home to Seattle. She has been with Northwest Cable News and reporting for King 5 since 2000. She currently anchors Northwest Cable News' "First Edition" morning shows, starting at 4am each weekday. She gets up each day just as many Northwesterners are getting to bed. But she says she thrives on the fun she has with her morning news crew.

"I know it's not easy for anyone to get up early and balance so much in the day," says Cam. "I try to just help people start off on the right foot, with the latest news and anything that'll help you feel good as you start your day."

Cam enjoys sailing with her husband, KING 5 environmental specialist Gary Chittim, and volunteering as an art teacher at their two childrens' school. The family also has a wide assortment of pets, including an enormous "Newfound-lab" dog, who will perform heroic water rescues "whether you need it, or not."

Each year, you can catch up with her -- if you have a good pair of sneakers -- at the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, where she treks 60 miles over three days in the heat of summer for breast cancer research and awareness.
