Evening Magazine Producer
Eric’s career began in the early 1990’s while majoring in Broadcast Communications at Eastern Washington University and working at KSPS, the public television station in Spokane. He then worked in the feast-or-famine world of freelancing as an audio technician for shows like Inside Edition, ABC News and the Today Show. He moved into local news when he was hired by KHQ-TV as an editor/photographer. He later helped produce a daily talk show at KHQ as an associate producer. After doing 8 years in Spokane, he moved back to his hometown of Seattle to join the staff of Evening Magazine.
Eric has won four Emmys and other awards for his work at Evening. He has interviewed everyone from movie stars like Denzel Washington and Johnny Depp, to extraordinary local people. His favorite interview (and most intimidating) will always be for a profile story he produced on his childhood hero and northwest icon, J.P. Patches.
When he’s not producing stories Eric is busy with his main job as husband to Seattle food writer Hsiao-Ching Chou, and overly-happy father to his two kids.
