Zahid Arab

Reporter

Zahid Arab joined KING 5 News as a general assignment reporter in August 2012 and is thrilled to live in the northwest.

He graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Arizona State University. He began his career at KCAU in Sioux City, IA where he covered everything from blizzards and tornadoes to other great stories in the community.
In 2008, he went one-on-one with presidential candidates during the Iowa Caucus. He then moved to KHNL in Honolulu, HI, where one of his most memorable stories was flying into Hurricane Felicia with the Air Force’s Hurricane Hunters.
Zahid then moved to KLAS in Las Vegas. While most know about the glimmering lights of the strip, his favorite part of living there was telling stories of the real star, the community. The spirit of the people and the city’s ability to reinvent itself is unlike any other.

Zahid has been honored with national awards in college and accolades throughout his career by the Associated Press and with several Emmy nominations.

When he’s not reporting, don’t be surprised if you see him on a museum tour, taking in a ball game or at the dog park with his basenji, Noah.
